Would carrier seat past the knees be bad?

I want to get a KP in Std and skip the Infant, but I think at this point it would pass DD knees. I have never used one before so not sure but from the width I think it might. Would that be a bad thing?

Using a piece of ribbon at the base of the carrier may help some but with the structure waist of the kp it might not cinch small enough. You might be able to do 1 leg in and one leg out. Also you could have a rolled up blanket/towel under the babies butt so that they won't be sitting on their legs if they don't like it.
