Baby acne?

I promise, dd is a pretty baby! Her skin was completely clear the first 4 weeks. Then I gave her her first bath (just water) and she started getting baby acne! (coincidence? I didn't use anything that could irritate her skin, just water) She is 6 weeks now and it gets worse every day. Just wanted to make sure this looked typical to you mamas and that nobody had a concern or thought it should be looked at. Also, any suggestions to help it? I've considered putting breast milk on it, but think that it might also be the problem... my top boob likes to leak on her face while she's nursing and we're sleeping at night. oops.

Thanks!

Looks normal to me. DD2 had terrible acne; she spent about a month looking like a 14yo! Breast milk might help but time is the best healer for it, I think.

Looks normal to me too. My youngest had it about like that. I washed it with just water in the mornings and put a little coconut oil on it too. It cleared up pretty quickly.

Re: Baby acne?

I was so upset when my beautiful baby got baby acne. I wanted to know what to do. But I found the best thing to do is wait it out. It has to do with hormones leaving the baby's body. I think my baby's cleared up in a couple weeks. Give it month and if it is still there then try finding out if it's something else. I was ready to cut out milk and all, and if I had it would have cleared on it's own and I would have though it was my diet and not drank milk again lol. It sucks but at least the baby doesn't know.

My pediatrician literally just today told me to use breast milk. And we didn't even ask. So.... That.

Yep, looks normal. It's so sad to see those perfect little faces marred during those few weeks, but your little one will be back to normal soon.
