Re: Chat Thread ~ Sept 30th-Oct 6th
Most books consider week 13 as the second trimester, but there's still a couple out there that say 14.
As for months, I figure there are an average of 4 weeks in a month, so at 12 weeks, I was 3 months. That's not mathematically correct, I guess.. but it doesn't matter. I tell people in weeks anyways.

Re: Chat Thread ~ Sept 30th-Oct 6th
Halloween is not my fave holiday... I don't oppose it, I just never seem to enjoy myself. Spend way too much money and/or effort for a lame costume that I still think sucks and only wear once.
I do enjoy dressing up the kiddo, however. Don't have a definite plan for him, but I'm leaning towards a zombie care bear. Will probably take him out begging, but will likely give most of the candy away at work.

Re: Chat Thread ~ Sept 30th-Oct 6th
oh yeah.. I have no clue what DD is going to be. Last year, I waited until the very end and got a costume off the clearance rack. I intended to do better, but paying a ton for a costume really doesn't work for me. Same idea this year, except I'm still just as resistent to $30-$40 for something she'll wear once.
and she got very little of her candy last year and will get very little this year. I'm not anti-candy - we love candy. I just hate worrying about if I brushed her teeth well enough. On another note, I bought her a book that came in today 'I'm a big sister' and I was trying to read it to her and I couldn't because I was crying. DH is like 'why did it make you cry' and I'm like 'cause I'm pregnant and hormonal!!' which was a legitimate question, because pregnancy doesn't really make me hormonal, but for some reason, that book did.

Yes, months are 4 weeks + 2 or 3 days (except Feb). So it all depends on which months you are pregnant for as to which day, technically, you change months. Quote:
But going by 9 months, it's somewhere between 13-14 weeks.Funny enough, I will be both 14 weeks and 3 months along on October 14th. Quote:

We let each kid pick 3 treats after t&ting, then everything goes into a bucket. Each day the kids get to pick one thing to take for after lunch at school. Sometimes they get one thing after supper too, depending on how the day/meal goes. Our candy usually lasts a l.o.n.g time this way. Often into spring and even summer some years!

Re: Chat Thread ~ Sept 30th-Oct 6th
oh yeah, I think the dress up costumes are a great idea. but I think isn't that easier when they slow down in the growing? DD should be having a growth spurt this month, I'm scared to buy anything
but after that, I guess they start growing slower.

Re: Chat Thread ~ Sept 30th-Oct 6th
I don't think I will dress up any more. I'm just always disappointed with how it comes out.
Plus, I won't get to go and have fun (a.k.a. a few beers) because I'm pregnant. Man. There are two things that I miss the most being pregnant. Tuna (sushi) and beer. I'm a total beer snob.

My kids are bring Mario and Luigi! I'm making their costumes (I bought white shirts and hats, and will be dying them, then screen printing the hats! So excited!).
I'm also announcing my pregnancy while we go to family's for trick or treating! I'm so excited about it!! I got a shirt and iron on transfer paper... I think I'm going to design a little pumpkin to put on my belly and have it say "growing another Lil pumpkin". Or a cute mummy that says "Mummy to be". Or do like a baby skeleton over by belly? I don't know yet. new ideas are welcome! Halloween is my favorite! I haven't had the energy or time between work and toddler herding and being sick to really get into it yet... I'm thinking next week I'll decorate the house!

Re: Chat Thread ~ Sept 30th-Oct 6th
had my 12 wk appt today. Everything is great. She got the heart beat right away and it was 160. I get to skip the 16 wk appt and will go in at 18.5 wks for my big ultrasound. I am so excited to know what the baby is. I thought I wanted to wait till the baby was born to find out, but I realized I can't do that. I need to be prepared. So we find out the day be for thanksgiving, and we will share the news with the family at Dinner. And it just happens to be my MILs birthday on thanksgiving so what a nice gift for her

Re: Chat Thread ~ Sept 30th-Oct 6th
LOL thanks everyone. I ask bc I got my workout videos that are broken down by months.
As far as Halloween, I am doing ds1 Halloween party at pre-k with another mom. You sign up at the beginning of the year. I did it last yr but the other mom dropped out and I did it myself. The teachers wanting no frills and were just like bring some cookies and juice--right up my ally!!!! Well the mom this yr is all into it and listed off, no lie, 10 things to do for the party as far as food and 2 activities, and like 4-5 decor. I wanted to be like hey lady simmer down now! I just said, "you do not have to do all of those things I can do some." I think it is a bit much for a 4 yr old classroom party but whatever. Food was Pizza, hot dogs, cupcakes, oreos, other cookies, pretzel snacks, wands made out of candy...and on and on and on. Maybe that is not much--I don't know bc I am so not a party planner person so I was thinking some decorative cups, plates, napkins, and halloween themed cupcakes--ta-dah!

As for tuna - they say 1-2 cans per week is okay. I can't remember which kinda of tuna they recommend, but I know there is one that they say is supposed to contain less mercury. I don't eat tuna.Quote:
And I really love the mat skeleton shirt with the baby skeleton inside - I think it's super cute!I wish I could get some decorations out, but I have to wait until after DS1's birthday (16th)... and I should really wait until after his party (though I'm not sure when we're having that yet!). Quote:
for a great appt! And that's good timing with the u/s!Quote:
That seems like overload for a group that age! Gosh. Your idea sounds just perfect to me!AFM: Man, m/s seems to be kicking into gear again the past couple days. Shucks. I'm hoping it's just making a last hoorah before leaving... but I worry that it'll stick around! for the magic of 13 weeks I usually get!!!

I'm a math nerd, though. But remember that months don't ACTUALLY have 4 weeks but more like 4 weeks and 2-3 days. Oh no, my nerdiness is leaking LOL
