Ugh, I wouldn't like it either. It's so much weirder (comfort wise) than NIP

I get it :-/ If I can I try to pump in the car on the way to wherever. Doesn't always work out that way though.

You can also use your nursing cover to pump in public

I EP'd for 17 months. I pumped a lot in the 'feeding room at Buy Buy Baby. Also pumped quite a few times in parking lots. If you EP and need to pump every 2-4 hours it is hard NOT to pump in public!
