Re: Recommend a HE washer!

Ok so should have asked here last week - lol.
I was going to buy the top load LG but I looked online and it got bad reviews Instead I bought a second hand Maytag Performa TL - it's older, not HE and has a HUGE capacity (for an older machine). I like it. If I had read this thread last weekend I TOTALLY would have spent $1800 on the LG set - instead I spent $250. BUT I now know what I am buying next

If you can hold out for a little longer op, I'd wait until black Friday. We got our set for half off a few years ago online. Didn't even have to brave the crowds!

Made our mind up.... to wait! lol We're going to wait until tax time and we will have cash then to buy one from any store in town that we really like. Our washer should make it till then. By then there maybe something better out there that we like and should be able to buy a larger capacity. Thanks for all your responses!

Try to run through LOwe's/Home depot once week and check their scratch n dent or deep discount isle.

My DH found a FIsher Paykel with a retail of over $800 for $150 there

I see incredible deals there a lot!

We buy the expensive, thick bath towels from Bed Bath and Beyond, so if I counted, say, target towels, it would have been more like 12 of those.

I don't think that much larger loads are necessarily all that efficient for us, though. Sometimes you just have to wash stinky dish towels or a tablecloth on delicate, so for us, it's a reasonable size.

Wish I could we only have a Menards, Sears and a local appliance company when it comes to buying one. Unless we want to drive an hour or more.

I have an LG front load. I love it. It was 600 with drum life on it and since I didn't want to be in winter and dryer go out we bought a dryer too and that was my birthday present the first year (4 yrs ago now)...

We got our LG top load he washer at home depot, it was on sale for (they where making room for the new models) $750, plus we had a 10% off coupon, it's awesome! No way I would get a front loader, but it's just my personal preference.
