8.5 mo old- no signs of crawling

Totally normal. My DD didn't even start crawling until a couple weeks before she turned 1. None of mine walked until around 13-14 months either.

I wouldn't worry.

I wouldn't worry unless there are other signs of gross motor delays. None of my 4 crawled until 10 months. And, NO signs until close to it.

One of the things we did with all the kids was to prop our feet on the coffee table or ottoman and let the toddler stand between our legs. They felt secure and were less likely to fall. Have you put her in excersaucers our a walker? Do you spend a lot of time on the floor with her? I would suggest not using the walkers and such and just do a lot of floor time with her. Still though, she may just have her proirities just where she wants them. I think they all wake up in the morning and have an idea of all the things they want to do. They're such amazing small people!

My 4th didn't crawl till 11 months. All kids develope at their own pace. If your ped isn't concerned I wouldn't worry,

None of my three children crawled til 8-9 months. One didn't walk til 12 months and the other two didn't walk til 13 months. Needless to say they are all over the place now.

Id talk to her pedi but if shes meeting other milestones its probably nothing to worry about yet!

My oldest started crawling at 10 months, exactly one week before she started walking. The rest of my children have been all over the place as far as how early or late they hit milestones, but usually pretty consistent in development. If they crawled "late" they walked a bit late, etc. I did want to point out what happened with my first though, because sometimes hitting a milestone later than average doesn't mean they won't hit others early.
