Re: Diapers for bigger kiddos!

OS Piddle Poodles were too small for my chunky toddler. I hate to advertise for them but our Kawaii's still fit. I will not ever buy from them again though. I also find that our Grovia AIO's still fit well. I think the side snapping works well for kids with bigger thighs.

Re: Diapers for bigger kiddos!

I would use L Blueberry Basix and Sandys L on my daughter if she were still in diapers, she is amost 4 and 30 pounds... here are some photos of her in those. I also would be comfortable with the GroVia hybrid with a stay dry soaker with booster added for a hybrid or one-size system

GroVia:

Blueberry:

Motherease Sandys (on its tightest snap setting )

Re: Diapers for bigger kiddos!

* I realize the soaker is wonky in the hybrid, but she's actually potty trained and was being helpful ... so I didn't even try to adjust it but that's my fault, I'm confident it would look much better in front if put on properly!

My 37 pound 11 month old wears mainly Gro-Via but she is getting too wide. We also love toddler-ease, HH XL, Upsies Diapers newer long OS, and Cozy's Fluff in knit fabric

Koala Huggerz, Chelory, Lucybugs, Nononiko, 123 Cloth me and large Ragababes may work well for you! Also any other wahms that use the baabaababy superfit pattern will fit a later toddler.

Re: Diapers for bigger kiddos!

Just for a size reference my kid weights 32lbs and wears 4T/5T clothing. My favorite diaper for large kids are xl GAD pockets. We no longer use them because I had to start putting him in onesies (special needs kiddo wouldn't stop playing with his medical devices). My new favorite is Thirsties Duo Diaper never wicks even under a onesie also has good absorbency and is reasonably thin.

Of all the bigger diapers I do find Toddlerease fitteds with a cover the most absorbent but if your kiddo is older it is a bit of an image issue since once they get to a certain age that oversized diaper bottom is just no longer cute and becomes an eyesore. We do use Toddlerease around the house but I would never let my kid leave the house with them on.

I actually like the fit of Fuzzi Bunz perfect fit but their inserts are awful and really don't absorb much. Having to purchase a better insert on top of the diaper purchase turns me off cost wise and using prefolds as an insert usually causes wicking when under a onesie.

Re: Diapers for bigger kiddos!

I use FB Large with gcloth and bamboo inserts for my chunky little monkey (17 months, 30 lbs and 36" tall) I agree that it's a pain to have to buy one type of pocket and another type of insert but if you keep an eye out here, you can get really good deals.
