1st - first contraction 10:30 pm...began pushing at 10:30 am the next day... Born 11:38 am

2nd - first contraction 5 am...started pushing 8:19 pm...born 8:26 pm

The labor was about the same length overall...but the intense portion was WAY shorter with ds 2. I was easily able to breathe through my contractions up until about 20 minutes before he was born.

Re: How long was the labor with your second lo?

DS1 was 1 hour 20 minutes.
DS2 was 15 hours.
DS3 was 5 hours.

Really hoping this one is super fast. Don't want another 15 hour labor. I prefer shorter.

Re: How long was the labor with your second lo?

#1 (hospital with epi) was 5hrs with 2 of those hours pushing. (I'm pretty sure they had me pushing too soon)
#2 (hospital with epi) was 4hrs with 20mins of pushing
#3 (hopital no pain meds) was 4hrs with maybe 10mins of pushing
#4 (hospital no pain meds) was 4hrs with 2 or 3 pushes
#5 (birthcenter waterbirth) was 3.5hrs with 1 push (I let me body do all the work this time - I was in the water and didn't even realize he was crowning until I felt an urge to push and put my hand down to feel!)
#6 (homebirth in our bed) was 6.5hrs with 8 mins of pushing - she was my most painful delivery. I could literally feel her the second her head starting coming into the my birth canal and the whole way down. (this is not usual for me)
If we have anymore I am going waterbirth again for sure!!!!!!

That is interesting how short your 1st and 3rd where and how long your middle! Was he not wanting to come down or something? My last baby was my longest labor (still only 6.5 hrs) but she was high and floating until my water broke.

Re: How long was the labor with your second lo?

I count my labors starting from my water breaking, because FOR ME that's the start of labor. I have a few contractions, then my water breaks, and a few hours later labor starts.

So approximately:.
DS1: 9 1/2 hrs
DS2: 9 hrs
DS3: 6hrs 15 minutes
DD: 14 1/2 hrs

DS1 was induced due to high blood pressure. I had pitocin and an epidural.

DS2 I went into labor naturally. I needed just a little bit of pitocin, which led me to choose to get the epidural.

DS3 was completely natural. I had a small dose of pain killer (Nubain, I think it was called?)

DD I went into labor naturally but wasn't progressing. She was too high up and not descending, so I wasn't dilating or having contractions. I got an epidural and pitocin (at my own request) and BOOM things started happening and she was born just a few hours later after just a few pushes.

God bless!
God bless!

First: 8 hours
Second: 1 hour 15 minutes

Both were all natural with no intervention.
