i have one that my great grandmother made although i dont know if it has a story or anything. she just like making stuff like that. i got it and an afgan that she made last christmas after she passed away.

None of ours are handmade but I have 3 quilts for my bed. Well one might be handmade because it's really old.

yes, it's gorgeous. i told DH's grandma that i was taking it last time we were up in chicago. my MIL made if for them 30 years ago but they dont use it so i snatched it

I have several because my grandma quilted.

As for what to look for, I wouldn't buy any quilts that are mass marketed. Usually the quality and appearance is poor. I would look for a craftsperson to make one. Perhaps they might even agree to do a custom for you.

Yes, we do.

One is from Anthroplogie the rest are hand made,
