Re: How do you store your homemade chicken stock?
Since we use ours up quickly I just keep it in a pitcher in the back of my fridge. It is partially frozen in the back. I think the back temp is 30-32 degrees. It keeps for 3-4 weeks. By then I need to make more.
Next year I hope to get a pressure canner. Then I plan on canning both meat and broth. Until then making it monthly and keeping in the fridge must do for us. |

I pressure can mine so it can just sit in the pantry. And make great gifts. :-)

Re: How do you store your homemade chicken stock?
Freeze them in old yogurt containers (both 8 oz, and larger quarts) on a tray, later that day take them out and put them in a ziploc bag so I can have the containers for next time.

Re: How do you store your homemade chicken stock?
I store in the fridge in a mason jar for up to a month or can larger batches. I had someone on my blog suggest freezing in ice cube trays for easier portioning. I may try that next time!

Re: How do you store your homemade chicken stock?
I used to freeze mine, but hate unthawing it and never remembered to thaw it out for suppers. Not a big deal if making soup, but I like to use it for rice and such. So I canned it this year. MUCH easier!

I freeze mine in quart jars. I wish I could can it, but I'm afraid to do it on our land lady's glass top. It's a pain to have to remember to thaw it.
