Re: Crock pot help!

Mine has warm/low/high. To me it is low/medium/high. Because the warm temp burns my tongue!

^this^ And yep, I've got a super hot crock pot too, planning to get a new one this week since DH agreed that jst since last Sunday the thing had got extremly hot. I use mine most every Sunday for our church's lunch.

BTW, I just got a new crockpot today (yay!!). In the manual it says not to 'cook' food on warm because it only gets to 145 degrees, but once your food IS cooked it can be on warm for up to 24hours.
You must not have seen corned beef, lol. No, it is not already cooked. Totally raw.

I cook my corned beef in the crock pot on high for at least 8 hours. Then it literally falls apart.

Yep, "corned" just means they cure a less-tender cut of beef, usually brisket, in brine with peppercorns and bay leaves. The curing process gives the meat a distinctive flavor but doesn't cook the meat.
