Leaking through hemp and wool

My ds is a SUPER soaker! We have been using baby beehinds with wool cover at night. Most nights with an extra hemp liner thrown in. I change him at least once if not twice in the middle of the night when he is up to eat. And he is still leaking! I just changed him, pjs and all because he was soaked after 4 hours! We have also tried sbish fitteds and have a few we use but I find them comparable to the BBH in terms of absorption. Wool is clean and lanolized regularly. (using kissaluvs wool lovers covers)

Help! I will take any and all suggestions on this one, i have no ideas!

Re: Leaking through hemp and wool

Ooohhh, I don't know mama! What finally worked for us, was using one of my own upcycled wool covers, that the wool is NICE and felted, and lanolized.

For my 3 year old, I am finding that a medium prefold AND an infant prefold, together do very well! My daughter still can do fitteds under her wool covers.

One thing though, is that I could NEVER get hemp to work for us I always had leaks, no matter the brand, or if I doubled up the soaker inserts. I have no idea why...it just didn't work! I gave up all my hemp for prefolds (Osocozy or GMD's) and fitteds (LFP's and BBB's).

Re: Leaking through hemp and wool

My first baby was a super soaker as well. I used prefolds with hemp doublers and the only covers that would not leak overnight were pull on covers. I used Bummis Whisper Pant and Proraps side snap pull on covers.

U might try a Loveybums interlock wool wrap. I ordered mine after several mamas suggestions, and was disappointed when my super soaker wet through yet another supposedly "bulletproof" cover. However, after a couple times more of lanolizing, it truly is bulletproof. And this is on a 20 month old who sleeps 11 hours and has a cup of milk at bedtime and one halfway through the night with no diaper change. I know...shame on me! Lol

Try interlock wool. WCW has an extra layer in the wet zone.

Re: Leaking through hemp and wool

I have a couple covers that have three full layers of wool for the entire cover, not just the wet zone. They are made out of cashmere (from old sweaters) and are super soft - not bulky. They work great with a bamboo fitted with the doublers.
