What a tough spot!

Have the relatives tried to have contact with her over the last 7 months? Lack of attempt at contact may sway things in your favor some...maybe?

I am praying for you and baby! I've never been where you are, but my thoughts were to include any organizations, routine play dates, etc... like kindermusiç classes, regular play dates. ....maybe these things would be a help showing she has built stability, routine, and relationship bonds while living with y'all these last 7 months. Keep us updated! ((Hugs))

My pastor and his wife did this, and they won. They did end up spending money out of their own pocket to do it, but it worked out. He is theirs forever now.

The fact that the family member was not previously involved and also was not able to give the baby the same environment that he had been used to (two parents with a stay at home Mom, many siblings, same home and church family his whole life, etc.).

My parents were able to successfully fight birth parents for custody in 2 of our 4 foster to adoptions. The other 2 were not contested. If you need more help, I can see if they remember what the arguments they used were, although it has been over 20 years since the last trial.
