Reviving this thread... Three weeks now and still little black/brown flecks. Not many, but they are there. The pedi said it tested negative for blood. should I believe them? Could something ingested really be taking this long to work its way out? I'm including a new pic if these flecks on a wipe. Has anyone seen this before in an EBF baby? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I would ask your pedi for a referral to a pediatric GI dr at his point.

Re: Dirt in baby's poop?

My son has that every single time he poops. Has for mths. I can't remember if he did though when he was ebf, but I don't think so or I probably would have thought more about it. Now I just figure it is something in food. Hmm...looks just like that. Dark little specs that are near impossible to wipe off of his skin. Like...he will be totally clean and here I am trying to get these teeny specs off! Now I am wondering as well. With a 4mth old ebf baby I think I would get a second opinion. I mean, it could be the way her body is processing the milk and nothing at all to worry about, but it could be something more.
