Honestly most pedis don't have much experience in this dept. Have you emailed with dr kotlow? He's super friendly and quick to respond, he may request pics too. I seriously doubt he would recommend GA and he's the tt expert.
Ouch - yeah, I worry him tearing it. I think I will ask to see an ENT or someone with expertise.

Who is Dr. Kotlow? I have not contacted. I can easily get pics for him.

He's a pediatric dentist and is basically the tt/lip expert! kiddsteeth.com Go to the contact us and you can get in touch with Dr. Kotlow. He's very helpful and can give advise and answer questions. Many people from all over the country have flown out to NY to have the procedure done. Where are you located? You can check the list of Drs on tongue tie babies support group for a dr near you.

Dr. Kotlow is in Albany and is the one who did Adams release. I would recommend him for sure.

Re: Yup Lip/Tongue Tie

That's so interesting about the lip ties. I have just started wondering if my son has this. My husband mentioned that all of the guys on his side of the family have a gap in the front of their teeth, and I notice that our little guy does also, as well as a posterior tie that we don't have any problems with. I keep forgetting to pull his lip back and check, though!

eta- yes he has a very thick lip tie! How on earth has this not caused problems for us nursing? I am going to look into getting it clipped.
