Re: Somebody introduce me to Flats...please?

Ok, I can't find flour sack towels on Targets website (are they only sold in stores?). I sent my mom in search of them for me since we don't have a Target anywhere near here (and I LOVE LOVE shopping at Target! I go every time we get close to one! LOL!!). So, hopefully she will find some, and we'll give those a try. Just wondering if I should just have those, or should I order some nb prefolds as well? Hmmm...so many decisions!

I think Walmart has them too. They will be with kitchen towels.

Yes, I've bought them at Walmart before (not for diapers, but bread towels), but some said that Target's towels were softer, so I thought if I can find some of those I would try them. Otherwise, I can always run to Walmart to get some.

I would go flats all the way. They are so trim, so versatile, so easy to clean and they actually fit from birth to potty training. I love flats!!

Re: Somebody introduce me to Flats...please?

since fst are soooo cheap, could you bring yourself to buy some and cut them smaller to use on a nb.... then when you pad fold into a cover when they are older, just use more than one??

Re: Somebody introduce me to Flats...please?

I've bought floursack flat's at Target, Walmart AND Kmart. I didn't find any to be softer than another.... they all soften considerably after many washings. Mine shockingly just KEEP get softer! The only difference I find is package size and dimensions.
If memory serves me:
Kmart 24x25 in 3pks
Walmart 28x29 in 2pks and/or 5pks
Target 30ish in 4pks
FYI: even my lint-free ones lint which bugs me so I remove the lint after 2 washes and never have to do it again.

I like both- but don't ever like a pad fold- just doesn't work for us.

Do you just fold it first? I could never manage to get a good fit with kite or origami fold.

Re: Somebody introduce me to Flats...please?

kite doesn't work for me... I do like origami, but DS just outgrew my origami skills with the only flats I have- tiny tush, not faves (haven't even opened the swaddlebees yet).

there's a ds mama fold I saw on youtube that I'm trying out now. But I only use flats when I feel like playing or I DO pad fold one sometimes INSIDE a prefold that's snappied as part of our night time get-up (I use all my smaller prefolds as various doublers). But straight pad fold in a cover still gets poo everywhere (so much shifting), well past EBF stage. Now I'm not sure where I read it, but I think there's a really recent thread on flat folding-- I need to look it up.
