Hugs, we all make mistakes as parents and I am sure he will get over this one instance. It's hard when our parenting is called into question, but we do need to follow that instinct. If I were in your shoes, I would be looking for a new church. That one does not sound baby-friendly or even kid-friendly. It wants to separate the family instead of encourage it. I don't like to have my babies cry either, and I can completely understand letting him have some time to adjust, but not the entire church service! I really think most churches would have came and got you after 10 minutes or so, and I don't think the lady was teaching him anything at all, or even trying to comfort him!
