Coffee to water ratio?

I use a regular old electric coffee pot. What is the correct (or best) coffee to water ratio?

Oh and I usually make about 4 cups, if that needs to be said.

Re: Coffee to water ratio?

I use a 1/8 cup scoop and do 2 for 6 cups. I drink my coffee black so I don't like it super strong.

The more grounds you use, the better it will taste and it won't be bitter.

I typically use 1 tablespoon for every 2 cups. It tastes like water

Re: Coffee to water ratio?

DH usually makes the coffee here, but he's out of town right now so I made it today and yesterday. I put 1 tablespoon per cup of coffee.

I have done a little experimenting with this over the years and I have found for me 1tbsp per cup of water is the best tasting.

We use a TON then. LMAO I use a 1/4c measuring cup, and I usually put 1.5 heaping scoops for 6 cups, and 3 heaping scoops for a full 12 cups.
