Re: Pros & cons of "minky" diapers
I dry on med and the minkys take about 15 minutes longer than other diapers.

fuzzibunz. The elites are minky and the inserts and they offer that as an insert buying option but I don't think they are as absorbent as other inserts and prefolds I have.

Tot Bots Easy Fits have minky inners. I found them quite absorbent and so far no stink after 4 months. They are the trimmest diapers we own and air dry faster than my BG shells.

Why would you want then for inserts? I thought the whole minky covers is due to the softness? I'm pretty sure my dd has a Carter's blanket with the minky fabric on one side ??

Re: Pros & cons of "minky" diapers
OP are you talking about minky inserts or diapers? I have a Kawaii minky diaper that I like well enough. The pattern is super cute! It's a bit bulkier than regular PUL diapers, but not too bad.
As far as minky inserts, I love how fast they dry! We line dry everything most of the time and those are nearly dry after I take them out of the wash. FuzziBunz OS Elites and Tots Bots Easy Fits are the only diapers I know of with minky inserts. I like my Tots Bots just fine but I'm not a huge fan of the minky fabric touching DS b/c it isn't stay-dry like micro fleece or suede. But, they do come with a little liner so I just make sure to use that. |

Re: Pros & cons of "minky" diapers
Agree with the pp's about the Tots Bots. I have both old and new minky styles. They come out of the wash almost dry after a high spin. I have been hanging them to dry to extend the life and love that they are still super soft without going in the dryer- unlike my older bamboo version. I do tend to grab for a liner as well since they aren't stay dry though, so I guess that kind of defeats the purpose! Every now and then I get one that comes out not smelling 100% clean for whatever reason, but it has always been fixed by sending it back through the wash a second time. I haven't noticed any chronic stink problems with them. I haven't had any issues with leaks and have been pleasantly surprised by just how much they can hold for my 22 month old. If I know we will be out for a few hours and in the car seat I sometimes add a doubler, but that is my own fear of leaks showing! I will say that every once in a while, this diaper might be on my son for 4 or more hours and still no leaks- hey, I'm not proud but sometimes it just happens, right?

Re: Pros & cons of "minky" diapers
The only minky I own are Totsbots and I got them specifically because they dry so fast! Like others said, they dry faster than BG shells and are so soft even after line drying!!
