Heart Rate

So, what was you LO's heart rate and gender? Ours has been in the high 130's to low 140's. We go for our 18 week U/S this week, so I am curious as to what others had and their respective heart rate.

Re: Heart Rate

We're having a boy and I am 33 weeks along. I have been getting weekly NSTs (non stress test) the last few weeks and the baby's heart rate has been in the 130's and 140's. When the baby moves, the heart rate jump up to 155-160 and then falls to the 120's before leveling back out. This is normal and the OB likes to see 2-3 big movements in a 20 min NST.

My dr said the HR changes so much throughout the day and even throughout a normal visit that it isn't an accurate gender prediction. That said, baby was in the 160's IIRC which would point to girl, but I don't remember DS's because I didn't know about the HR thing back then.

Well, I'm not looking for any sort of accurate prediction. This is just something fun to see what others had gender wise as well as the heart rates. I can't remember what the heart rates were in my other pregnancies.

Thank you everyone for sharing! This is fun!

My first two (both boys) hb were 140s. This one is consistently in the 150s/160s, and it's another boy.

Ours was always high (140-150s) and a girl. Mw said the theory is, the smaller the baby, the faster the heart rate, and girls are usually smaller. My baby was 7 lb 9 oz. mw said she is very rarely wrong on gender guesses.
