I have a 2 1/2 yr old son named Felix Oliver and my husband and I have a 3 1/2 month old daughter named Aurora Lorelai who we call Rory sometimes.

We have a Clara Grace and are undecided on a boy's name for our new baby due in January. I like Felix, Leo, and Ezra but dh either vetoes them or they don't go with our last name. Dh loves Seth and Isaac but I'm not totally convinced.

My husband and I want more kids and like the name Oliver but I used it as a middle with my x and iys getting popular but wereally love the abbreviation of that name to Ollie what do you guys think about using just Ollie even tho I already have Oliver as a middle name in the family? My husband skateboards too so he likes that association. We also like Huxley with the middle name Hudson maybe bc that's my maiden name and he loves Magdalena which I don't love but like it shortened to Maggie or maybe even Alena. Is it weird to name your child something with the intention of calling them the shortened version?

New little bean hasn't been named, but I mentioned Astrid from this thread and DH didn't veto it, he said 'hmmm'.. so maybe. We don't really have a list of names or this would be easier. I love Elynor, but there are some issues with it.

I want Star, which would be very symbolic for this baby's birth state (same as Magnolia's name reflects her birth state), but DH completely vetoes that.

Aster and Astar are pretty.. but they're not the same
The only other thing that would work is 'Garnet', since it's the Star Garnet that is so special to Idaho, but I don't really like Garnet as a name.
