I would call the HR department where you are going and ask if they have a new moms room if so just ask your boss if you can get there 20 minutes early and leave 20 minutes late. Then pump when you get there and before you leave.

Also my pump went thru the security guards for mission control at NASA all the time and none of them ever asked any questions about it.

Re: What to do about pumping?!

My bet is that it if is a place big enough to have security, you won't be the first to go through it with a breast pump.

Re: What to do about pumping?!

Personally, I would take the pump in with me. I would ask someone in charge where a private room is that I could use to express milk for my baby. When I worked and pumped with my DS, I had to do this on many occasions and in many places. Just ask. I always found that people were much more accommodating than I ever expected they would be. I would leave during the meeting to pump whenever I needed, but if you aren't comfortable doing that, ask your boss if you can leave early enough for you to have time to pump before the meeting. Then pump again after the meeting before you leave to head for home.

Re: What to do about pumping?!

I have pumped everywhere, including in the bathroom of a hotel lobby where the only plug was by the sink and a large mirror, because our room "wasn't ready" for check in. I also pumped in the back of the car while my in-laws drove. Also, once at an all day conference at the VA hospital, and they had to escort me 3 floors away to a private office.

I hope you can find a solution that fits your needs. Just be frank and up front about how things are going and hopefully you will get a respectful and tactful response.

Re: What to do about pumping?!

thanks everyone for all your suggestions! i brought my pump with me and told my boss that if the meeting when long i would have to find a place. but, the meeting actually took less time than i thought, and while i was definitely feeling full, i wasn't hugely uncomfortable when we were done, so i just decided to wait until we got back to the office to pump. so, we're back now, i've pumped, and it is all good

Re: What to do about pumping?!

I just use A cover (udder covers, boobtube, etc) when I pump in public or the car. Get everything set up and ready to go, then put it over your head, then lift shirt and undo bra hook up to pump..
