Re: High weight limit RF seat??
We have the Radian. It's very roomy for my chunky babe and I have no complaints.
Although, if you like his current car seat, I'd wait it out and see how long it actually takes him to gain those last few lbs. Someone on here gave me the same advice and I wish I'd listened before shelling out the cash! We got the Radian when DD was 38 lbs around 9 months, because she was gaining like crazy and I was sure she was going to reach the 40 lb limit fast. But of course she stopped gaining as soon as I bought it, and has actually lost a lb since then (now 18 mo). We would have upgraded anyway because I want to keep her rearfacing as long as possible, but there was no need for us to rush. Just something else to think about

Re: High weight limit RF seat??
The PP has a good point--once kiddo starts walking (and running), he will probably slim down.

Re: High weight limit RF seat??
We have the Peg Perego convertible. It is RF to 45 lbs. I like it quite a bit. I didn't have time to wait for a Foonf but I figure if we do end up with a Foonf when they actually come out the Peg Perego will go in my husband's car.

Re: High weight limit RF seat??
The Foonf looks amazing. I love that it's made in the USA and recyclable too. But whoa on the price! My first car cost a lot less than that! I really wish that was in the budget.

Re: High weight limit RF seat??
If you can afford it, I would suggest the Foonf.
If not, then the Peg Perego and the Radian are the only other two seats on the US market that will RF past 40 lbs. Although yes it's possible your LO will slow down and not reach 40 lbs at a young age, I wouldn't bet on it. I'd get a seat that will RF to at least 45. The other option would be to import a car seat with a 55 lb RF limit. It would be illegal to use in North America, unless you can get a medical exemption (which may be possible just due to his weight; you can always check with your pediatrician). You can find more information about high-weight Swedish RF seats at www.carseat.se . |
