Knee walking?

First of all, I'm not a bit concerned. DD just turned one. But, she took her first steps two months ago, and then waited two weeks, and took a couple more; waited another two weeks, took a couple more. Now, in the past month, she's taken steps more regularly. But, instead of walking, she goes from crawling to knee walking. I'd say we're 30% knee walking and 70% crawling right now. Does anyone else have a knee walker?

My youngest did this..it stopped when he was about 14 months old. I wouldn't worry too much

Re: Knee walking?

I'm not worried. If we hit 18 months and she's still not walking, then I might worry a little. As of right now, I think she's just not super interested. In the past few days, she's been taking way more steps, so we may be getting close.

I had a knee walker! Dd2 started doing it at about 11.5-12mos and continued to do it until she was 18.5mos! The ped was never concerned. We figured since she was so tall(off the charts) she was nervous. Once she got the courage she just stood up and started walking with no problems-no falling, arms out, toddler wobble, nothing-and never went back to knee walking.

Swagbucks. Search. Earn. Redeem. Yep, it's that simple (I've earned $70 in gift cards and counting!).

My DD was a knee walker too!!! it didn't last too long but it was cute. If you want to encourage "real" walking you can try bring LO to places with wood or tile floors and lots of things to pull up on.

Re: Knee walking?

She pulls up on things constantly. I got a video of it when it started thinking it'd be a super quick phase, but we're going to hit two months in the next week or two. Personally, I think it's hilarious.
