Mango allergy?
My DS has been eating 1 meal a day with us (dinner) for approx 3 months. In the last month we have tried mangos 3 times. It has resulted in extreme crying and vomiting. Is this a normal allergic reaction or something else??

Re: Mango allergy?
This very much sounds like it could be an allergic reaction. I would not try to feed your LO mango anymore right now and would probably get allergy testing.
I would also watch your LO as you introduce other foods. My ODD has severe food allergies and when she was a baby would either scratch at her mouth, cry or refuse foods she was allergic to. Sometimes her cheeks would get flushed or she would get bumps right away. Those are all pretty basic signs of an allergic reaction, as are vomiting, and so on. |

My husband has a severe mango allergy that manifests 36-48 hours after eating mango. Vomitting, swollen lips and tongue, chills, etc.
I've eaten mango with my EBF baby and he hasn't had a reaction but I'm still nervous to give him straight mango.. I'd hold off on giving yours anymore mango for a while. Maybe the baby will outgrow it! From my iPhone, probably while BF'ing. |
