Our son's birthmom could not place him with us until he was 48 hours old. The decision to circ/not-circ is usually carried out within that time period here. We did discuss her wishes, and our wishes, and we agreed on the same decision, so it was a non-issue. Had she have wanted something different, I suppose she could have had it done or declined it when it was still her decision. (BTW, it is covered by insurance and done more than not done here.)
Had she wanted something different than we had wanted, well, I am not sure what we would have done.

Our son's birthmom left the decision up to us, but it was definitely within her rights to make that decision since no relinquishments had been signed...
