thats ok! what little info out there said that it was pretty good but im to chicken to try! the recipe is
1 (55 ounce) box washing soda (Arm and Hammer brand)
1/2 cup borax (20 Mule Team brand)
2 cups oxygen cleaner (Oxyclean)
1/2 cup simple green cleaner
1/2 cup water, softening powder (Calgon Water Softening Powder)

Directions:

1
Mix all ingredients together, using rubber gloves.
2
Store in a sealed container, such as a pail.
3
Use 1/8 - 1/4 cup per load.

if anyone is curious to try it out. so far its been doing a good job on other laundry. (i halved the recipe for less "commitment")

If it's what I'm thinking, it may eventually wear down the fiber? I just havn't done research on it. You may be able to look at the ingredients? I'd be too chicken to try, lol.

Ingredients - What are the ingredients in Simple Green®?
Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner is made of water, surfactants (surface-active-agents), wetting agents, emulsifiers, green colorant and fragrance. Simple Green does not contain chlorine (bleach), ammonia, formaldehyde, TSP or petroleum distillates.

Thanks! this might give me the courage to switch back... I miss my tide free and clear (just my fav- don't like the smell of tide)... country save is really destroying my clothes! I'm getting so many holes in clothes and I still have ammonia!

I don 't know- its supposed to be fine. My dipes are fine-- its the regular clothes that don't seem as nice. Might be my imagination. Maybe those few shirts were just washed so much- just wondering what others thought.

After reading your post, i researched CS and didn't find any complaints about it eating holes in clothes. I did find done reviews that thought it was just so-so.

I would just wonder if the surfactants and other ingredients are safe for fabric use? They may wear the fibers down over long term use? I have no idea, but you could call the company.
