Is there a tie/position that is good for nursing a baby in?

My Mood:
I don't know the name (but will try to google and find it) but I've nursed my baby in my wrap. It's the standard cross wrap, X over the chest, then you slide baby in. I think it's the Kangaroo hold? Anyway, I was able to slide the baby to a side laying position, just like nursing, and nursed him hands free. It's a bit tricky to switch to the other side, for me, but totally do able.

ETA: checked the website. Newborn hug hold and kangaroo wrap were what I used. My son was born 10+ pounds so he was pretty large and I'm not sure if that affects things or not. Some of the holds have "minimum weight requirements" on them...

Re: Moby Position Good for Nursing?

The Moby is super tough to nurse in, IMHO. The way you're supposed to do it is exactly how WannaBeGreen said -- you pop the baby from vertical in the basic wrap over to the side. The "x" part of the wrap kind of cradles your baby's side, butt, and shoulder.

This is only good for wee babies, too!

I'm sort of a Moby expert -- my little one only naps in the Moby (still...and she's 7 months old!).

Re: Moby Position Good for Nursing?

Sounds familiar....think that's what I did with DS when he was wee bit. Never tried nursing when we're out and about in the moby though. It's not so easy to do and I remember nursing while sitting down and working although I've heard moms who nurse while walking and doing things at the same time.
