I've thought about doing this too. Have you talked with your doctor about the juice fast (or a dietician)?

How are things going mama? I'm doing the first 10 days with you! My dh and I watched Fat, Sick and nearly Dead a couple nights ago, and decided to give a 10 day juice fast a try. Today's day one!

I wonder how it would affect things if instead of juicing, I just threw the ingredients into my Vitamix and made them into smoothies instead? I would love to do something (on a smaller scale) soon.

The "science" behind juicing is that you remove all the fiberous parts or what needs to be digested and broken down. Juice is absorbed as is basically, the body doesn't need to work on breaking it down or altering it. This gives the body the ability to work on just cleaning your body and getting out toxins.
Thats not to say that throwing back a few green smoothies won't do a great deal for your body, but you wouldn't get the same exact benefits. I bet it would still do some good cleasing in your body.

I do green smoothies pretty much every day as is. I kind of figured it wouldn't be the same as juicing, thanks for the info!
