Get out??? My god, I felt the urge to push and ban, he was out! Thankfully we didn't have to get out of the water but if I had, woulda been in a very bad mood. Lol

Re: Laboring tub...
This is how our hospital is. They have labor tubs, but you can't deliver in them. I'm fine with it, personally. With my first, I did a lot of the labor in the tub at home and then got out to drive to the hospital. Of course, I was not in transition at the time either though. So...maybe I don't really get it.........we'll see.......

Re: Laboring tub...
I did it twice. I hated getting out of the tub and wished that I could have had them where I was. That being said, I only had to push a very short time. The worse off it was just walking from the tub to the bed.

Re: Laboring tub...
Yup. I had a homebirth with ds2, so I was allowed to birth in water if I wanted to. But I decided to get out as my body just needed to be on land. I labored in water during transition and then shortly before pushing I got out and gave birth in my living room.

I did with my first. I wanted a waterbirth, but couldn't get in a good position to push effectively, so I got out and pushed her out on a birth stool.

Yup. It didn't feel right. I got out to push and ds2 was born on land.

With DD4 I was laboring in the water and when the urge came to push there is no one who could've gotten me out of that tub. I would've said screw you and kept pushing. But I was allowed to and it was all good.

With my last, I labored in water. It was SO nice compared to laboring out of water. I got out to be checked and, yes moving from the pool to lying on the bed was HARD. It turned out the baby was just about to crown, less than 10 minutes of pushing and he was out. Next time I will request to stay in the water the whole time, but really, if I have to deliver out of water it's no big deal.
