Water on top like that doesn't really tell you anything. Add some pressure and it should soak in.

Re: WTH my new freetimes?!?

Moisture isn't going to soak through suedecloth without pressure. Just running water on top of the inserts won't tell you anything, you need to push down on it with your finger and see if the pressure allows water to pass through. That's the point of suedecloth/staydry.

Ecos can cause build-up. I would maybe wash them with them with some dish soap, then dry them in the dryer, and try them again.

Re: WTH my new freetimes?!?

My new FT did the same thing. Leaked out the side and didn't absorb much the first wearing after 1 wash. After a few more washes, they work great. They don't need to be prepped like natural fibers, but the new fabric finish still needs to be washed away. That can sometimes take a few washes ime. After a few more washes I bet they'll work fine

Thanks! I hope thats the problem. I wonder if I should wash them in a little rockin green...

I'll probably wash them again today. His night diaper leaked but not as bad. So maybe the washes are helping? When I smell them they do smell a little funny like an oily new smell (make sense haha?)

Should I dry them after every wash or just stick em back in the wash? Thanks!

I'd try the dawn as well; it would be something left over from manufacturing. Just once with dawn ougt to do the job, if that's what it is.
