This thread is for women that have children who are trying to have more and struggling with infertility (IF). You fall into the IF category if you have been trying for more than a year or if you have known fertility issues. Some have secondary IF and some have primary IF. Some of us are TTC naturally and some need treatments of some type. All are welcome!

We also have women who are praying to make it. Due to prior losses or IF they don't feel like they should join a due date board till after the first 12 weeks. We are truly happy to support you as you transition. Please just keep in mind that we are a group of woman struggling with IF and be sensitive to that as you post. Losses: Identical Twins, May 1, 2008. I was 9 weeks along, DH and I believe they would have been baby girls.
Diagnosis: Unexplained Secondary Infertility (I believe it's a progesterone/ovulation issue)
Treatment: Hoping to do IVF in Oct/Nov! For now I'm taking prenatals, B-Complex & Omega 3's.
Next Appt: Seeing an RE for our first IVF appt tomorrow night! 9/27 @ 6pm
Cycles TTC another: No birth control since DS #2 was born, started TTC a little over a year ago.

Diagnosis: unexplained---tests all "normal"
Treatment: 200mg Endometrin suppository (100mg 2x/day), baby aspirin, extra folic acid and B6.
Next Appt: Pending approval with MFM. Hopefully by Oct 1.
Cycles TTC another: 1. DH came home from deployment and 3.5 weeks later, I got my BFP. We have ZERO problems getting pregnant...its staying that way that doesn't work well at all.

Diagnosis: Unexplained infertility to start with, now in menopause due to chemo, also had pelvic radiation that complicates things a bit.
Treatment and meds: Have 3 frozen embryos (my last 5 bits of hope), low dose aspirin, prenatal vitamin with low Vit. E, Estrace (orally and vaginally), progesterone in oil, and Prometrium. Have port cath flushes every 6-8 weeks.
Next Appointment: 9/5 Ultrasound and bloodwork, 9/10 FET, Beta 9/15, Oncologist on 10/17
Cycles TTC another: Got cleared to do my FET back in 11/10 pending oncologist telling my RE I didn't have cancer... turns out I did. So have been waiting since then to get to this point. It took 2 years 7 months for first cycle after cancer, now working on second cycle.

Diagnosis: DH had vasectomy '99 (previous marriage), reversal 3/09. Immediately (9 days after surgery) and had my LO 12-28-09. Never used birth control, began TTC another immediately after 1st PPAF, 8/10. After 15 cycles, we began a fertility workup and were devastated to find out he has complete scarring of the reversal site and a zero sperm count.

Next appointment: January 9 (with my ob/gyn to begin my fertility workup and discuss options)

Diagnosis: Endometriosis, do not ovulate regularly. Dh- MS, Celiacs, Ulcerative colitis, low count, poor morphology and motility.
Treatment and meds: Clomid, provera, prometrium, baby aspirin and a host of supplements and vitamins. Laprascope '09, lupron shots '09, trying out acupuncture and chiropractic right now too.
Next Appointment: Mon. 10/15 for saline sonogram and more blood work. Looking for reasons for the losses and IF, hoping for some answers soon. RE doesn't want to continue onto the next step without some answers.
Cycles TTC another: 4 1/2 yrs for DS, 3 1/2 yrs so far for #2.

Treatment and Meds:Beginning 2nd IUI cycle w/5mg femara, ovidrel trigger and prometrium. Will do this cycle and one more IUI and then meet with doctor to discuss IVF or using donor egg. - Moved to IVF
Next appointment: Follicle scan on 9/ 29. IUI on 10/1 or thereabouts. Will meet with RE to discuss game plan again in November.
Cycles TTC another: Had IUD removed 4/10 but really have been trying since 6/10.

I'm STILL waiting to find out about insurance approval for IVF...and with the storm, I don't think it's anybody's priority, KWIM? I mean, I'm anxious to do it, but it's not as though it's immediately pressing, so it's not really a big deal.

AFM, the RE called today with some of my lab results. Dh is fine, how the heck did that happen? I don't even know. He had the same infusion he had last year that killed everything but now he's fine, how the heck? But they said it could still happen in 60-90 days so who knows. Anyway, he also got some results on me. BUT dh took a message and I didn't get to ask what any of it meant, so hopefully you ladies can help me make sense of his notes. All I know is he said something about the RE calling another specialist to talk about it, and possible heprin (sp?) injections. IDK I wish I had talked to him. But I have severe anxiety about phones so dh usually fields all the calls and didn't even think to ask if I wanted to talk to him.
Here is what the notes say:
Antiphspholipid IGG Normal
IGM 15 or under normal, I"m 24

AntiCardo Lipid antibody

IGG Normal under 10 I"m 4 so normal
IGM should be below ten, I'm 86!
iga should be below15, I"m 3.
Usually two of those are elevated so you treat with heparin or steroid, but with only one elevated and crazy high elevated, not sure how to proceed.

Just wanted to update...

I had my appointment last week and the dr. is having DH do a semen analysis first. He says regardless of those results he's going to forward me to a gyn for further testing. So I guess we'll see what happens. Seems like a long road ahead....and not sure what insurance will even do if they find anything. I'm pretty confident Tricare covers Clomid, but that's all I know.

Laurel- Sorry I am no help with your numbers, but that is fantastic news about your DH! Were you able to look at the actual numbers? We had a problem where my RE wasn't actually looking at my husbands file last year and had told us he was fine over the phone- until he later looked at the file again and discovered his mistake I would just double check to be sure. Also- with your husbands history, if he is actually doing good right now, I think you might want to consider freezing his sperm as soon as possible... just in case his meds change up again. It was definitely worth the peace of mind for us.

AFM: Very bad depressed today an thinking at times WHY should I even try for another baby? Reason due to getting put down by others by my age or saying you don't need another baby and with no support system by family other than my mother an DH. Here I went through all these surgeries in hopes get pregnant again but I'm so scared it will not happen again at all.. I'm so depressed an mixed up today I just don't know why this depressed.

Now on the news part I've got a post-op coming up next week an hope it goes we get good news instead of something bad. Maybe tomorrow be better day.

We all have those days. My mom is always telling me to be grateful for the one i have and quit worrying about more. Makes me want to to her! But I know she means well. People try to make you feel better but they really don't get the longing in your heart for one more. I keep finding myself looking at adoption website because I"m feeling hopeless and I just want another child. I found a child on rainbowkids today that I so want to request more info on. But she's in china so because of dh's health we aren't eligible. Not that we've even begun the process of being ready to adopt.
