is babywearing just not for us?

I have a 4 week old nb. We've been trying to use the comfy joey ring sling I used with my ODS. I put him in froggy legged, head on my chest and his hands are at his face. His positioning on my body appears fine. But he keeps throwing his head back and pushing his legs out of froggy position like he's trying to stand. He absolutely despises it. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Can you try with his legs out? I know he still seems tiny but some babes just hate to be so 'confined'. My ODS hated to be swaddled and hated to be 'worn'.

Re: is babywearing just not for us?

DD hated the froggy legged position and also threw her head back from the start, she also didn't like to be swaddled. She was much happier in the Beco Gemini since she was just a tiny newborn. Now she's ok with the wrap and ring sling as long as her legs are out (she's 3 months), but she still prefers the Beco.

Both of my kids went through stages of not liking to be carried. Just keep trying, try different positions, walk, sing, go outside. I found my kids always did well at the grocery store. So much to look at! GL!

I'd try with legs out. Many babies just don't like being legs in.

I had the same problem!!! Put him in there with his legs out instead.

Yeah, I feel like my DS also didn't really like being tucked in froggy-style a lot of the time. Just keep trying, maybe he'll prefer legs out - my 7-month-old is fine now in my Boba carrier.
