Re: Hand washing, line drying
I stand by the flats/covers too. They look intimidating, but they're really not if you just pad fold(or maybe triangle fold when they're really tiny). I fold them into quarters(a square) just out of the dryer, then fold the squares into thirds right before I lay them in a cover. I prefer snap closure flip covers. My husband and I go all over the place for his job(he's an engineering field tech) and the flats can survive any washing situation with pretty much any detergent(I use Tide Free and gentle, as I am highly sensitive to artificial scents).
I have a full stash of BG 4.0 pockets, and I'm honestly finding myself reaching for the flats more often then not. The pockets are a pain to get clean and still get nasty ammonia buildup that's hard to strip out. but part of that is because I have wicked hard water, mind you, so it won't be the same for everyone. |

Re: Hand washing, line drying
I have pockets & I have done hand with them a bit but then use machine help ince no rollers to help rid of water I always line/rack dry. I think I heard using plunger is great in tub.

Re: Hand washing, line drying
You can also make the "camp washer"...that is a 5 gallon bucket and a plunger for washing your diapers...it works really well.
