I have lost 85 pounds!

17 Day Diet. Easiest plan I ever tried. I have altered it a little. I don't use artificial anything. No lemon in my water, makes me nauseated. Can't drink green tea due to anemia (have been for years before trying this plan).

It's a book 17 day diet I think. I tried it, too low fat for me but my goals are not just weight loss. I think it works and it really gives examples of what to eat every day which I like.

Re: I have lost 85 pounds!

I've tried this diet before, and have to agree that you'll definitely lose weight with it if you can have the willpower and stick with it. I never bought the book, but got all the info off of this website for recipes and food lists and general rundown.

Re: I have lost 85 pounds!

I am now down 87.5 pounds at my 1 yr mark on this plan. You need to make sure you keep the calories at 1200 or more depending on which cycle you're on, no less. I use real foods, no artificial anything. No special powders or sweeteners.

It works. It is whole foods. Eating healthy.

You should really get the book to try this, it explains so much more and has ethnic plans as well as a PMS plan to add in when needed.

The 17 Day Diet Plan

Days 1 – 17 are to “Accelerate” on a low carbohydrate diet that provides around 1200 calories. Eat unlimited lean meat and no-starch vegetables, two fat-free plain yogurts and two low-sugar fruits, a bit of oil, green tea, and 64 ounces of water a day.

Days 18 – 34 are to “Activate” by calorie cycling (aka calorie shifting or calorie zigzagging), which means that the daily calorie intake cycles and recycles from low to high over the course of several days. The goal is to trick the metabolism to prevent it from slowing down. Two servings of whole grains are added to the above to raise the average calorie intake to 1500 a day.

Days 35 – 51 are to “Achieve” good eating habits that last a lifetime. This phase is the same as “Activate” except that lean meat is no longer unlimited and more grains and fruit are added, along with an optional serving of alcohol and a 100-calorie snack.

Day 52 and on are to “Arrive” at a lifelong eating plan, which is a constant cycling through phases 1, 2 and 3 - until the weekends when you can splurge. But don’t bin
