Re: placenta encapsulation.
Nice, I've been in the Austin area (Georgetown, Leander, Jonestown, Cedar Park, Round Rock, etc.) for about 25 years now, lol. Let me know if you need any advice about the area! I love it here!
On topic: I don't think I could ever take my placenta. The whole thing and concept is kind of neat to me... but there's something about eating/ingesting something that was in my body for SO long... it just seems like it would be really gross (I'm such a baby, lol).

I will absolutely be encapsulating my placenta. Well, I won't be do it but will be having it done.
I do placenta encapsulations for a living so it goes without saying that I am a huuuuuge proponent. I would advise people to only hire someone that comes to your house to do the process. That way you can observe and make sure your specialist is following all OSHA and EPA guidelines for sanitation. In addition, you don't know people's cleanliness level or if there are other placentas being processes at the same time. Blood borne pathogens is no joke, please don't place your health in the hands of someone you barely know. Also, please, please, please do through research if you want to attempt doing it on your own. You only get one placenta, it needs to be handled properly!! If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me or email me at placentamama@yahoo.com . I obviously can't be most anyone on here's specialist but I'm always willing to answer questions or offer help. :-) Sent from my iPhone using DS Forumh

I did my own last time though I had a bit of a hard time getting the placenta. I bought all new supplies to do it myself. But thankfully my midwife is just going to do it for free. Last time I thought my husband was going to hurl all over. There are tons if midwives and doulas here in pa that do encapsulation. You may want to find a midwife/doula first then ask them personally.
