I don't think it's too steep a price, you need to pay yourself for your time, $25 sounds very reasonable to me, that's what I charge as a base price for my sewn swaddle dolls with synthetic materials.

And I think it's very cute, my daughter would love it!

I would pay $35 for a doll made of cotton yarn or something else soft and with legs. I am not really a fan of acrylic or at least the cheap stuff.

I think the doll is adorable!

I like the stiched on eyes, and i like her without legs. I dont think i would be more inclined to buy the doll with more outfits, but id like choice of outfits, like dress, vs overalls, I have boys and I would buy them each one if it looked a little more like a boy baby vs a girl

as far as price id probably pay 20 for something premade and more (25-30) if it was something custom made (ie i could pick colours used, outfit, add ons ect)

id also pay more if it was made with a softer yarn over a cheap acrylic yarn, something that would be nice to snuggle with.

I can always make these babies or anything in my store out of just about any kind of yarn: wool, cotton, acrylic, etc. The main thing is I mostly get request for acrylic because people like to just toss the item in the wash and they are good to go. So most of the yarn I have is acrylic or acrylic blend.

Because of that, I would need to charge people for the skeins of cotton (or whatever other type) and it would make it more expensive. So let's say the baby is normally $20.00. If we use the cotton yarn instead and let's say I buy I Love This Cotton Yarn in two colors, I would have to charge for each color ($2.50 each) plus $5.00 for gas because I live 40 minutes from the nearest yarn store (yeah I'm out in the country). So definitely $30.00 for a basic cotton baby.

But like I said, if someone here is interested in a specific baby doll like that I can certainly do it for you and would be more than happy to!!!

great bunch of comments! I'm looking for a doll for my son (just turned a year) to have like his big sister. for me, might be a bit too expensive. Love the idea of 2 versions- one for younger (like my son) and one older-- with tuft hair, accessories, etc. I like the sewn on eyes, hair was a great idea (sewn on, not tufts, as someone else mentioned). I'm torn on the legs- could go either way. DH and I were just talking tonight about getting him a doll for the holidays. He's got plenty of rough and tumble stuff- needs something he can hug, IMO. So that's my frame of reference. We have all girls dolls for my daughter. Planning on getting boy dolls of some type for both kids.
