How often do you see your doctor or midwife?
Crazy since I have 4 other children but when does your provider switch to bi-weekly and then weekly visits? I am 26 weeks and seeing a new midwife practice, at my appt. today they told me that my visits are supposed to be bi-weekly now and that at 32 weeks it will be weekly
This seems much earlier than my other providers over the years.

Re: How often do you see your doctor or midwife?
Well this time doesn't count - I haven't been to the Dr yet, but hope to get in this week.
With my other pregnancies, though -once every 4 weeks/month until 26 weeks -once every 2 weeks from 26-36 weeks -once a week from 36 weeks to birth (or 41 weeks, then NSTs and BPPs every 2-3 days until 42 weeks) Starting every 2 weeks now sounds about right. Starting weekly at 32 weeks seems a bit early - I'd hold off on those, unless something was happening.

Re: How often do you see your doctor or midwife?
That sounds about right except the practice I go to they didn't start weeklys until 36 weeks. I am not a Dr. person and with my last 2 pregnancies I didn't even see the Dr. until 13-14 weeks. After that is was about every 6 weeks until 30 weeks. Then I gradually switched to every other week, and then weekly for about the last 3 weeks. My Dr. was fine with me spacing visits out like that. I was healthy and so was baby. I feel like I know my body best and if something wasn't right then I would call and go in (which I never had to do). Just do whatever feels right for you.

Re: How often do you see your doctor or midwife?
This was the first time I have met this particular midwife. I really liked her but I was just surprised. She also mentioned that the maternal fetal specialist that oversee their practice would want me to have a growth ultrasound at 32 weeks as well as weekly NSTs from 34 weeks on because my BMI is high. I have had 4 other babies and this has never been an issue before. I have been this same size my entire adult life. In fact I switched to this provider hoping for less intervention.

Re: How often do you see your doctor or midwife?
Starting weekly at 32 weeks seems a bit early, but who knows. For both DD and this pregnancy we started bi-weekly at 28 weeks and then weekly with DD started at 36 weeks and will start at 36 weeks for this baby too.

Re: How often do you see your doctor or midwife?
We switched to biweekly at 30 weeks and then go to weekly at 36. I wouldn't like all of the extra testing either unless their was a good reason. What do they think your BMI is putting you and the baby at risk for?

With my first pregnancy it was once every 4 weeks until 36 weeks.
with this pregnancy, it's once every 6 weeks until 36 weeks. I don't remember being biweekly, but I might just not remember.
