Re: Anyone take antibiotics or Zofran in early pregnancy?
I had strep throat and was put on antibiotics...ZPac (I don't know how it's spelled) before I knew that I was PG. My little guy hasn't yet arrived (due to arrive any day now) but he's definitely been healthy so far.

Re: Anyone take antibiotics or Zofran in early pregnancy?
I lived on Zofran and Beef broth my PG with DD #1. I had Severe Hyperemesis and spent most of the PG in the hospital on IV fluids
I had to take the zofran RIGHT on time 24 hours a day or I ended up back in the hospital so it is perfectly safe. And I've been told that Macrobid stays contained to the urinary tract and does not enter your bloodstream by my OB/GYN so that should be totally safe also![]() ETA Zofran (5 years ago) was $800 for 30 4 MG pills So if something else works and you don't have good health insurance I would try that first

Re: Anyone take antibiotics or Zofran in early pregnancy?
I took Zofran w/ my 3rd-gave me horrible constipation-horrible-nothing helped. I know of other people who took it. We all have healthy babies!
Sour starburst helped my nausea, too Hope you feel better soon!~

Re: Anyone take antibiotics or Zofran in early pregnancy?
I was on diclectin for the first couple of months for nausea and just recently finished some amoxacilin for a UTI (at 5 months) didn't want to take it but the alternative is worse. UTI's can be serious if untreated.

Re: Anyone take antibiotics or Zofran in early pregnancy?
I took zofran for months with DS#1 and had no ill-effects from it (except for being terribly, horribly constipated.) With DS#2 I took zofran for just a day when I had a stomach bug and couldn't keep anything in. It is expensive (!) but it worked well for me. I couldn't take phenergan because of the drowsiness - I'm a nurse and walking around half asleep was not a good option. In the hospital setting, we've found that alternating doses of zofran and phenergan works better for some people than only using one or the other.

Macrobid is just fine- my friend is on it for her kidney stones and she's pregnant- she's a pharmacist so she's researched all about it! I was on keflex when I had a uti during pg- dd is perfect
