Re: possible herpes on a 2 y/o

i would get a tube of "Super Lysine' from the health food store or even online at a place like Vitacost. it comes in a little green/white tube and it works miracles even for sores that are not herpes. my son gets herpes simplex 1 outbreaks on his lips from time to time and this stuff clears it up in a day or so. ive also heard great things about applying a little apple cider vinegar with water (but it seems like that might tingle).

No advice but just hoping his poor little bum heals up fast and you find the underlying reason. It's so hard to see our little ones in pain

My DS would get the most horrid diaper rashes ever. We ended up putting Mylanta on the rash with a cotton ball, letting it dry then putting a layer of Vaseline on the top. Not cloth diaper friendly, but it was the ONLY thing that worked.

When it was her, it was poop related. It just BURNED her poor bum no matter how fast I got that diaper off. A nurse suggested healing her gut and using baby probiotics in her milk. For her it was a miracle and everything was better as long as I used it.

When it was the diapers, it was that they simply were not clean enough. Sometimes you need to bleach them. For her, I needed to bleach regularly. I was washing cotton diapers using HOT water (like I can't put my hand in it hot), and using Tide, but if I went without the bleach for too long she'd get a rash.

Not sure if any of that will help you but thought I"d offer it up anyway. When her rashes were really bad they did well with a cotton prefold with no cover. I put her in the bath a lot too.
This is immensely helpful for me! My doctor just said my little one's rash was from having too acidic poop not a food allergy and so I basically couldn't do anything about it but change him as fast as possible. They eat yogurt some, but not routinely. I am ready to try anything to stop having his skin pealing off all the time.

Blue-grayish tones in the eyes or skin is from extreme overuse of collodial silver. There was (I believe) only a few documented cases of that, and 1 was a man that bathed in it and drank it and applied it to his skin every single day for several years.

ETA: I think it's unfair to say it doesn't work, either. I've used it MANY times and it's never failed me or my family members. Definitely no placebo.
I always find it interesting that people are so quick to bash something that may have a side effect, if taken in extremely large doses. Has anyone ever listened to the commercials or read the long lists of side effects to common prescription drugs or for that matter over the counter "safe" drugs...I'll bet is its MUCH longer and larger than the possible side effects of colloidal silver!!
The other thing I find extremely interesting is people are quick to say it doesn't work and the studies do not prove that it does....Well, The big Pharma companies are only going to fund the studies of items they can patent and make Billions off of..now who is going to be able to patent Silver? might explain why there are not many "Big" studies done. This Dr that is working for the Mayo Clinic...how many prescriptions do you think he writes in a month? Do you think he gets kick backs or special "gifts" from the big pharmaceutical companies? I would venture to guess if he recommend the use of colloidal silver he may just be out of some very big bucks.

There is a reason that Silver has been used for ages...it worked...the only reason it is not mainstream now and considered an "Alternative" treatment is because of the introduction of Antibiotics in the 1940's now we all know what the over use of antibiotics has done to us...I admit they have their place, but whenever we find something newer and better and makes someone billions we jump on it....like sposies...doesn't always mean the newer is better in the long run.

IT is also good to do your research and not take the word of one Dr or the word of a select few. I myself was on IV antibiotics, and then oral antibiotics for 8 weeks because of a cellulitis of the breast nothing took it away and finally I resorted to "alternative" measures what antibiotics and prescription drugs could not do, Colloidal silver did and in only a few days!!

IT has completely helped with my children's Pertusis, as well as Pneumonia and the horrible cold sores they get, myself too. It is definitely worth a look and a try.

OP,I really hope your son is feeling better soon, and Big hugs to you as it must be hard to see him in such pain!

I have no experience with this. Sounds awful and I'm so sorry for you and your LO. We use Lusa's Booty Balm for all skin related issues and the issues always clear up quickly. Worth a shot. The family who runs this business may be able to offer guidance as well. http://www.lusaorganics.com/natural-...ty-option1.htm and they have a FB page. Good luck.

**Colloidal silver does work! I've known people who used it on animals because if is one thing that if they lick off won't be harmful. I've know people that used it on themselves and ...they didn't turn blue and it worked to heal them faster.

Also a silver based cream by prescription is available and used for severely burned skin or non-healing skin ulcers (like diabetic get). http://www.prescriptiongiant.com/sil...gm-p-2474.html To say there is no no evidence that "silver" works is Bunk! This cream is FDA approved and has antibacterial properties.

Sorry I couldn't help to comment after seeing that Mayo clinic link.
Also as a PP commented.. you can test for herpes with a blood test. This is how most people get tested.

Thanks everyone for your input. She (his dr) had ruled out the blood test for some reason I don't remember. Something to do with herpes and his age. He has another appointment in a week and I will be seeking answers.

My husband is a Mayo Clinic doctor and he does not get kick backs. Pharma is not even allowed into the Mayo Clinic.
