I plan to do stickers, bath soap/foam, mini bags of Goldfish crackers, socks, and then DS will get maybe a new little train for his train set and DD will get some glitter glue or some type of art supplies.

Re: What do you put in stockings?

Is there a reason for the oranges/clementines? My parents always did it for me. After looking at the thread and seeing so many other mama's doing it I asked my husband if his parents did it for him. He looked at me like I was crazy.

That is TOO cute. I may have to steal this idea.

I think it comes from a time when fresh fruit just wasn't available during winter months easily at all. Oranges were a little luxury that could be brought up from the south.

Now my kids get fresh fruit daily and wouldn't appreciate an orange as being something special.

Their stockings usually have consumables:
1 chocolate orange
1 tooth brush
1 tube toothpaste
some sort of bath consumable (pouf, sponge, oil, fizzies, bubble)
some sort of art consumable (markers, crayons, glitter glue, notepad)
lotion
chapstick

Re: What do you put in stockings?

toothpaste, toothbrush, and bandaids for each of them.

I also bought some reusable baby food pouches so they'll each get 2 of those.
These: http://www.littlegreenpouch.com/

Older DD will get a woodkin & fabric.
Younger DD is getting socks & barrettes.

I probably won't do a stocking for the baby.

Re: What do you put in stockings?

I love stockings!! It's my favorite part of getting my boy's Christmas together. We do Pez [whatever their fav is at the time/character]. Gold coins, and some other little "Christmas toy w/candy".

Not sure beyond that, except for new toothbrushes that spin. Then usually I do some kind of book, small lego pack, hot wheels cars, paints, etc.

Re: What do you put in stockings?

This year they are getting hats and scarves from a great mama on Ds ( here), plus a mason jar, with a cuppow drinking top and a crocheted-by-mama cozy. we'll be going on a hike with some hot tea or hot cocoa that day!
