Bumping...my nausea is getting worse and the doc gave me a Rx for Zofran. I'm not actually throwing up (yet), but it's to the point I can hardly get up from the couch. From my "research" online it looks like most people who take Zorfan have hypermesis. I'm able to eat some everyday (but it's not healthy food). Toddler watching tons of TV
and house is a wreck. WWYD?

Eat and Rest. Try to never let your stomach get empty. Whether that through snacks or drinks (juice, milk, water, pop?). Try and nap/rest as much as possible. I always notice that after I have a busy day, the next day I usually don't feel well.. I always found that carbs, and salty foods (French fries, chips) typically sounded good to me. Eat what sounds good... IMO it's better than getting sick... HTH!

I also noticed that getting moving in the mornig first thing really helped me. Getting out and exercising by walking in the neighborhood, taking a shower, dressing in normal clothes. All those things go a long way to keep me from sinking into morning sickness funk. And i DO get the really nasty hyperemesis kind where I'm stuck puking several times a day. But for me personally, the more I focus on how bad I feel - the worse I feel. Not to say everyone is like that, that's just me. |

Re: Nausea advice?
Have you tried seabands yet? For now try to eat as well as you can, but take your vitamin and don't worry too much. You can always start eating better when the nausea stops. The zofran probably won't stop your nausea, it's more for vomiting. B6/Unisom are better for the actual nausea.
Don't worry about your house, you have the rest of your life to clean it.

Re: Nausea advice?
I used acupuncture during my second pregnancy and worked almost immediately each week I had it. Hope you find something that works for you soon!

If it were me, I'd refuse the zofran if you're not even throwing up. I know how debilitating the nausea can be. Did you try unisom?

Thanks for the last line. Encouraging, but a little discouraging, too! ![]() Thanks to all for the input. I have not shared the news with any friends yet (CP in September-gun shy now), so it's nice to be able to "talk" here. |

http://www.helpher.org/mothers/treat...edications.php They are all three considered fairly safe, but of course, everything has risks. I have HG so zofran is the only thing that keeps me from regular ER visits for IVs. The risk you are willing to take should be proportional to the risk of not doing it. Obviously for me, the meds are the lower risk option, that might not be the case for you.
