What do I do ??

Umm... OK, so we have a flea collar on the dog and I took it off last night so that D could play with her, but DH must have put it back on her this morning.

I put DD on the floor to play and went to wring out the laundry (long storry short the washer stopped spinning) and when I went to check on DD (a total of maybe 5mins) she had the dog pinned down and was tugging at the collr. I have no idea if she licked it put her hands in her mouth or what ??

I washed her up and then took the collar off the dog, but should I cal poison control just incase ??

DD is only 5months.

i think that I'd call poison control just to make sure that she is ok. Kids are so fast. My kids always get into something everytime my back is turned, and usually it's something that I thought they couldn't get to. I hope that everything will be fine though for you.

yep, I'd call poison control just to be cautious.

As an aside, I worked in a vet for a while in college and the guy used to say that a flea collar is only good for putting in the vacuum and sucking the fleas up. On the animal they just avoid that area, you're better off with topical flea treatment

I wouldn't worry about it at all. If she was only alone with it for moment, then she didn't get enough to really bother her.

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

Thanks mama.

I called PC and got a freakin voice mail so I called her ped and they didnt know what to do so they told me to call the ER, the ER told me to cal the freakin PC. So I called PC yet again and finalyy got someone and he said that since she only licked it that the only thing that he would expect is some irritation around and in the mouth and to give her something to drink to dillute it and just watch her.

She is a little fussy and has a slight irritation on her lips but other than that she seems fine.

NO MORE FREAKIN FLEA COLLARS.

I used Capstar while DD was little to keep the fleas under control. (Just an idea in case you don't want to use any topical flea treatments)

What is that ??

I have been looking for something with either none or very little chems in it, but the Natural stuff at Walmart is NASTY smelling and made the dog stink horribly.
