Do teething necklaces wear out after awhile?

I want to buy a used one, but do they always work or do they lose all the "good stuff" that makes them work?

I'm sure I sound like a moron for asking, but I don't want to waste money-it's too hard to come by

You mean the amber ones? I'm pretty sure that's good for a few hundred years

I think that since its a natural property of it that it would last as long as the amber is still together.

I got mine from Kokourke on here and only spent a little over $10 for a new one.

I honestly wouldnt get a used one because yu never know if it has a weakened string on it that could break.

I would buy new !

Having a little history on pre-owned amber can be helpful . . .
Ideally, the only thing that should come in contact with the amber is water (and of course skin!). Soaps, jewelry cleaners, etc., will create a film on the amber which prevents the natural oils from absorbing into the skin.
