I just cut the organic inserts into thirds and used them when my now 18 mo old was 6+ mo old, and now they're being used on my cousins nb. They work great with the front 1/3 folded in the wet zone

Get a dozen flats! I used flats & orange edge prefolds in it. Baby is 7 months, 19.5lbs & the same things still work.

Heh. Cutting the organic inserts into thirds is an interesting idea. I already have them too so it wouldn't cost me anything.
