What length prefold for a Thirsties Duo 1?

I have prefolds that measure about 12 1/4 x10 inches (already prepped). I'm thinking they're too long for a Thirsties Duo size 1. What size/length prefolds will fit best in the small setting? and the next setting?

I'm honestly thinking of cutting the ones I have down an inch or so. I didn't use them very much with my son because they weren't wide enough to go around him. But may be if I can trifold them to fit into a Duo 1 on either setting I will get good use out of them this time.

Or is there an easy way to turn them into a fitted? Has anyone done that with success?

Fold down the back and then trifold it. That way it won't be a total loss. I do that for my dd and actually love it for our night diaper now
