Unbelievable..she just sent me a message making me out to be a MONSTER because I filed. She even sent me a picture of her daughter (that was in the accident) in her hospital bed. Talk about guilt trip...it is totally understandable that things are delayed because of family issues, but she should contact her customers and let them know, NOT lie to customers and take on an entire co-op she promises done by Christmas. She produced the DC#, but still insists she wants me to send my item back as soon as it gets to me. I want the item..I just needed the DC#. What the heck do I do now?

If you paid for the item, you are under no obligation to send it back when it arrives.

I imagine she found this thread. That's where the anger likely came from?? Because I think you were reasonable in expecting communication. My children have been in the hospital before. I feel for people. I do! But they have to understand they TOOK my money and I need to know I will get my items or a dang refund. My money was not a loan for an undeceived amount of time. Kwim? Communication is KEY!! And why all the sudden you get the communication you wanted? This thread.

I don't believe she's on DS, but I'm not 100%. The transaction took place through Etsy.

She's apologized and sent me a refund AND told me to keep my item. I sent the money back marked as personal payment owed. Now I do kind of feel like crap! Maybe it was insensitive given what is going on at home..ugh. I don't know!

I don't think it was insensitive. You don't have any way of knowing whether her story is true or not. And it's a business. She shouldn't take it personally and neither should you.

Sounds like you haw the DC number now and repaid her with a personal payment. Hopefully no more issues arise, as there is no recourse at this point with a personal payment.

Wait to send her the money until you have the item in hand. You were not insensitive. Hospital stories are a dime a dozen with real scammers.

Did you send the payment as personal payment owed AFTER getting the item or are you still waiting on it? If waiting, did you run the DC# to be sure it is actually in route?
