Re: Do your pregnancy symptoms decide how many kids you have?

Just curious if varicose veins would make a difference for anyone. I feel selfish for saying that I'm done, but my legs are KILLING me and they look awful. I'm only 29...

So glad this was posted b/c Im in your boat OP!! But, for me, its both preg sxs and just general child rearing. I dont get bad nausea, but I get TERRIBLE fatigue. DH tries to be supportive, but really, theres nothing like the sanity of a household run by mama KWIM??

And, my DS is a very high energy child :-). I can usually deal with it ok, but its SO Hard to deal with it while pregnant and exhausted. Add to that, that when he gets a cold (every couple of months) he wheezes terribly and Im up with him for the better half of a week (i.e., no sleep for me) consoling him!. Also, I struggle with PP that seems to have stricken me early this time. So, all Im asking myself is, if we have a 3rd, can I deal with 2 high energy, up for a week at a time due to illness babies while Im exhausted, depressed and irritated b/c DH is doing a terrible job running the house (although he is trying). Not to mention balancing working full time and also doing all of the typical at home mama duties too! I dont think I (or our marriage) could survive a 3rd lol! Im pretty sure Ill be selling my dipes as baby grows out of them so keep a look out on FSOT lol!

Re: Do your pregnancy symptoms decide how many kids you have?

Every pregnancy for me is worse. My second I was on the couch til 14 weeks, with one 2.5 yr old. This time I had two and it was much worse...on the couch all day...throwing up during the night. Had a grand mal seizure from my body changing...had stitches in my face and lost 3 teeth. $10,000 in doctors bills later, this will be my last baby. I would probably die with any more at that rate.

If I had hyperemesis I would probably be done. I was sick to 14 weeks, had sciatica, GD, and cholestasis. The last couple weeks I was scratching myself til I bled. Much worse than that and I'd be done I think.

No. I have had some pretty bad morning sickness and some difficulties in pregnancies. I did take unisom and b-6 w/ my last three through.

Yes. My births have been easy, but pregnancy is miserable. sick from 6wks on through the end. The worst thing is anxiety, though. I have nearly daily panic attacks during pregnancy. So, unless we have a happy oops, we are done with two.

Re: Do your pregnancy symptoms decide how many kids you have?

We are done at 3. This baby is our last. Pregnancies have been rough for me, but this last one has been horrible. I went from mild hyperemesis to severe with this one, Lost 16% of my body weight, multiple hospital stays, and ultimately had a feeding tube placed (PEG-J). At 32 weeks, I am still throwing up multiple times daily, constant migraines, irritable uterus (Ctrx started at week 28 - every 5-8 minutes. every single day), seeing stars for weeks, constant state of dizziness and nausea, some form of bedrest since around 20 weeks, etc. We are done. I've almost died twice this pregnancy (told to get our affairs in order, etc), that we don't want to risk that again. I want to be around to watch my children grow up if I have a choice.

We thought I couldn't have kids when we got married. Then lo and behold I got pregnant on our honeymoon (!!!) so we talked about it and decided that three sounded like a fine number but it wasn't set in stone. My firm limit was being done by the time I was 30 regardless of how many we had. Each time got worse an worse (probably cause they were so close together). None of them were planned (on bc for ALL of them!) but after I surprisingly got pregnant with our third we decided to be done. And that pregnancy took the cake. I can't go through that again. So my husband got snipped. I had nearly every horrible pregnancy symptom and some weird ones-so yeah.
