To make corners you go one stitch past the end of the fabric, then get lever thing as high as it will go. Lift the foot. Gently pull the fabric/stitches off the feeder teeth (there are two of them under the foot) and turn your fabric. Put the foot down and start sewing again. Sorry I don't know all the technical terms and I hope it makes sense. I just learned how to do the corners last month. It takes some getting used to, but it works. I'm terrible at anything related to tension though.
