Prefold versus flat fit in a Flip cover?

I used a diaper rite small flat, a yellow and a red gmd prefold..I also have brown & orange if anyone is curious (& large flats) they all work.

I think they just say flour sack towels... I don't shop at walmart much but at Target they are in the same aisle as the kitchen towels...

She is so adorable! I fold my flats a little differently... I make a long pad so I can make a thicker pad in the front for my boy - makes the back even trimmer, but of course it's more bulky in the front then

I seem to be in the minority but I prefer prefolds. For me, flats seem to shift around and sag and bunch, while prefolds always stay in place nicely. I don't find them bulky either (well, a little bulky in my 2 month old, but not bad. Nice and trim on my 2 yo though).

I have some of those flour sack towels. How do you use them? Just fold and fold and fold til they fit in the flip? Do you lay anything (ie fleece) on top for a moisture barrier? I'm very curious. Ive been using a baby kicks in my flips or a prefold, and neither are perfect. Thx.

There is no 'right' way...shove it in there the easiest way you can & see what happens =)

I don't bother with a moisture barrier (fleece) unless I am using bum cream since I don't use cd safe stuff...but that is only 1-2 changes a week.
